Warm Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Warm Vinyasa Flow
How you move through space is how you move through life
- Stuart Heller
Yoga is an authentic expression of self as it provides a pathway to explore the wisdom of the body. Yoga is also an art form and a sensory practice. It creates an awareness in the self, an inner connectedness, strength, trust and increases focus and balance in the midst of chaos and the ebb and flow of life.
In this 60 minute warm vinyasa class, you will experience a focused continuous flow. We will integrate the Asanas in the flow, building on strength and stability. You will experience intelligent sequencing, wherein every previous asana will build on the next one. In every asana focus will be on finding balance between relaxation and effort, creating awareness about the body and mind, proper alignment with a strong foundation and using the breath to go deeper into the asana.
We will start with setting an intention for the practice, then begin with warming up the body with pranayama breathing. This also helps with creating focus during the practice. Then we will be moving into sun salutation A and sun salutation B, integrating core work, while also creating a nice flow and connecting the movement of the body with the life force of breath. We will then move into the floor series with spine and pelvic floor strengthening poses - including backbends, forward bends, spinal twists, hip openers - and finally ending with savasana where you will have time to soak up the practice and relax your muscles. The warmth in the room helps in cleansing toxins from the body, increases the heart rate and metabolism, improves the immune system and supports weight loss.
I use humor to add some fun and softness in the class.
You will see the physical as well the psychological benefits of the yoga practice in your life.
Yoga enables the yogi to access the body to meet the needs of the heart.
Each class will help with:
- Building strength (physical as well as mental).
- Building mind - body coordination.
- Creating awareness and self compassion.
- Building trust in self.
- Using the body to ‘feel’ and ‘be’ rather than ‘think’ and ‘do’.
