Surviving coronavirus: letters from Diogenes' tub
This is a purely virtual meetup, devised solely to helping each other cope with the coronavirus-induced lockdown and self-isolation - but with a grain of philosophical wisdom. We all hope that the pandemic crisis will soon end, and we will return to business as usual, including our beloved discussions, now in Novotel. The truth is, however, no-one really knows for how long this will continue - and I personally suspect it may go on well past April the 6th, while the overall impact will surely last much longer. In these strange times of compulsory, possibly protracted seclusion we might need all the help we can only get to keep our spirits up and find gratifying ways to occupy ourselves.
This is a call to participate in a virtual message board thus. Let us share our favourite or newly learned ways to usefully spend time on our own, when socialising or going out is not an option (in the regular sense), for an uncertain period of time. If you have a suggestion of the sorts, apart from bingeing on Netflix that is, or have read an interesting page on the subject (including something simply humorous), watched a youtube clip that cheered you up, etc, please share it with us via submitting a comment below. (Critique of government s actions is allowed too, but please keep it constructive.)
By RSVPing Yes to this announcement you are not committing yourself to attending any real event, but are simply indicating your support for the idea of this virtual exchange. (The actual event may or may not happen on the date shown, depending on when the quarantine is over, and how many of us would like to celebrate liberation.)
Looking forward to your entries!
