It is easy to learn, a lifetime to master.
Shogi 将棋 translates to "Game of Generals" from Japanese. Even today, it is played by millions of people worldwide.
Shogi is an exciting and strategic board game that anyone can learn.

You will learn the basics and a bit of Shogi history. Have a nice time discovering the game through playing together with other beginners and make new friends ????✨

19:00 - 19:15: Walk in
19:15 - 20:30: Shogi Beginner workshop
20:30 - 22:00: Free play

It is free of charge to participate.
--- Drinks ---
Water, tea and coffee is free of charge during this workshop.
1 euro per can of soda.
--- Food ---
Our club location is in Chinatown of the Hague. There are many places nearby where you can enjoy a good and cost effective meal, before you go to the shogi club for the workshop.
--- Corona rules ---
- When entering the building, people have to wash their hands with disinfecting soap ????✨
- Please be mindful of distance between people.
- Please be mindful of your health when coming to the club.
- Players will sit across double length tables.
- Each person will play on their own shogi board and playing set. This avoids contact when exchanging shogi pieces on the board. Shogi boards and playing sets will be provided during the workshop.
- Maximum of 16 Meetup players are allowed during Corona times.

Shogi Club Tokin is located at Paviljoensgracht 33 Den Haag. This is a location from Buurthuis van de Toekomst.
At the location you can ring the doorbell or knock on the window where we are sitting and playing.
The club is easily accessible by public transport or by car:
It is a 5 minute walk from the Hague city center via tram stop Grote Markt in The Hague. It is a 7 minute walk from tramstops Centrum, Kalvermarkt or Spui in The Hague when walking through Chinatown.
It is about 15 min walking distance from both The Hague CS or The Hague HS train stations.
Set course to "Q-Park Veerkaden" in Den Haag or:
