New Renaissance Film Festival Amsterdam
LAB 111 welcomes back the fourth edition of the New Renaissance Film Festival (NRFF) on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th of February 2020.
This friendly arthouse festival which is based in London, and was called “One of the UK’s top film festivals” (London METRO, 01.08.16), has premiered and screened films that went on to win an Oscar (
NRFF will screen more than 60 titles: some of them are world premieres, while others have already won major prizes or have been screened at international festivals.
Amazing films this year are the atmospheric feature Feelings To Tell (Gui Qu Lai Xi) from female Chinese director Wen Li; the deeply moving arthouse film Alive (Lebendig) from Michael Siebert; and the Sci-Fi feature A Living Dog from Daniel Raboldt.
There is a great selection of Dutch films (with English subtitles). Some of them were screened at The Netherlands Film Festival or at the IRFF last year, like the documentary Galore, about drag sensation Lady Galore by twin brothers Lazlo and Dylan Tonk.
Despite its small size, there are each year many gems to be found among the many short and feature films, and many filmmakers and actors are traditionally available for Q&A’s after the screening.
