Garden to your heart's content! Weekly gardening meetup
• What we'll do
Join us every Saturday or Sunday for a gezellig time in the garden. We get together from 11:00 to 13:00 to learn from each other and to learn about ourselves. We are a group of amateur gardeners who like getting our hands (and shoes!) dirty. Try new gardening techniques, grow vegetables you can't find at Albert Heijn, get away from city life a bit, and taste the fruits of your own labor.
Mostly, we like to have a relaxed time in the garden, sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting, and enjoying the outdoors. But occasionally we will schedule things like permaculture workshops, meditation sessions, yoga lessons, and more. Got a great idea for a topic or wish to contribute something yourself? Let us know! We're open to all kinds of fun things.
• What to bring
We have tools, work gloves, and tap water. Be sure to wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Feel free to bring along a snack or beverage!

Getting to the garden can be a bit tricky your first time. The main entrance is on the far northwest side of Westerpark (point A on the map), with the train tracks running parallel along the collection of gardens. Go through the gate for Volkstuinpark Sloterdijkermeer (not the gate for Nut en Genoegen, which is further down the road). After entering the gate, walk past the map guide, make a very sharp left, down the path called Vinkenlaan. You’ll see the ditch on your left and gardens to your right. Keep going until you’ve reached the first garden on the left—that’s us (point B on the map)! Luistervink.
