Erwin Leon Live at StayOkay Vondelpark Amsterdam (free)
Born in Rotterdam in 1990, Erwin Leon started piano lessons at the age of seven, after which he taught himself drums and guitar.
For years he was a drummer for various bands and acts, including drummer with singer and songwriter Sevdaliza.
But from a young age, his real love was the guitar. That is why he decided to stop drumming and to focus on writing songs with guitar and vocals.
Erwin now writes Dutch-language songs about time that is always catching up with everyone. And long walks through the city. About the city. About the quays and the ships. Metro stations. Wednesday nights. About tinder girls, about searching and being on the road.
Chansons, ballads - songs with a story, with a dash of blues, folk and pop music with influences of Maaike Ouboter or Spinvis, mixed with Dutch blues, folk and pop songs.
Live he also plays various covers from artists such as the Wood Brothers, Mandolin Orange and the Decemberists.
Sounds like: Maaike Ouboter, The Wood Brothers, Toon Hermans, Mandolin Orange
